Structure and Thermal Properties of NewStar(R)PMIA Fiber

PMIA (polymetaphenylene isophthamide) is an inherently flame-resistant,high-temperature fiber that will not melt,drip or support combustion in air.It also delivers outstanding process-ability.In this paper,through scanning electronic microscope (SEM),X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),the surface structure,aggregate structure and thermal properties of PMIA fibers of NewStar(R) Nomex(R)and Conex(R)are systematically discussed in this paper.
