Performance Analysis and Simulation of Routing Protocols for Ad Hoc Networks
With the flexibility and robustness.ad hoc network has become the researching hot spot of wireless network,especially in military field.The purpose of this paper is to extract the relative merits of these mechanisills by studying and comparing the performance of four prominent routing protocols:DSDV,DSR,AoDV and TORA.We systematically analyze the protocol performance in difierent aspects.such as delay.routing load,throughput,loss ratio,scalability,routing mechanism,multicast support,unidirectional link support and power saving.Our simulation results show that AODV in general outperform DSDV.DSR and TORA in term of previous performance metrics.As a result.we conclude that the difierences in the protocol mechaniCS can Iead to significant performance difierentials.Which provides a beneficiaI reference for further study on more scalable routing protocols supporting the QoS in ad hoc networks.
