Influenza A Virus Infection Changes Electroencephalogram Oscillation Pattern of Hippocampal Neurons in Rat Brain
Influenza-associated encephalopathy is a severe infectious disease. Here we report the electroencephalogram (EEG)activities recorded in the rat hippoeampus (CA 1) under isoflurane anesthesia. In infected rat, compared to control (uninfected)rats, the EEG shows rhythmic activities at 3-13 Hz during the burst suppressed period. We suggest EEG may help to understand the mechanism of neuronal properties in infected brain.
