ABNORMAL GAIT RECOGNITION BASED ON RBF NEURAL NETWORK
Gait, or manner of walking, is a very common behavior we can observe in everyday life. Analyzing human gait has found considerable interest in recent computer vision research. So far, however, contributions to this topic exclusively dealt with the tasks of person identification or activity recognition. Vision based gait analysis has not been used in aid of home care system or other surveillance application to detect abnormal cases since analysis is only done on normal types of walking. In this paper, we propose a simple but effective approach to abnormal gait analysis using computer vision techniques. After segmented the foreground object, we extracted the feature vector reflects the abnormal gait from the aspect ratio and achieved the abnormal gait recognition by RBF network. Experimental results show its promising performance.
