Social insurance of Chinas migrant workers

摘要：

Migrant workers are one of Chinas most important economic assets and support Chinas major industries. However, Migrant workers confront health challenges stemming from the nature of their work, and their low income and their mobility. Based on a survey of 1,702 cases of migrant workers and applying SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) to get the general situation of social insurance participation of the samples, an overview of Chinas migrant workers is provided in the beginning of the paper Moreover, the regression result shows that (1) the goal of to increase income cannot encourage migrant workers to claim unemployment insurance and pension plan; (2) government care will enhance migrant workers motivation to claim social insurance; (3) receiving unemployment insurance and pension plan has benefit to decreasing the mobility of migrant workers, (4) receiving unemployment insurance will give migrant workers the expectation of to live a better life.
