Inherent safety analysis of the chemical processes for toluene diisocyanate production
Toluene diisocyanate can be produced through many processes. The industrial process is puzzled with the problems of safety. Some inherent safety analysis methods are summarized and analyzed in order to find a suitable one for TDI production. Among various inherent safety analysis methods, the graphical method shows distinct advantage over the others. It is chosen to study the inherent safety of existing four processes for TDI production. Three parameters, i.e. temperature, pressure and FET, are analyzed deeply. Finally, the relative weightiness of them are pointed out. The result shows that dimethyl carbonate route is the favorite one in the future TDI industry.
