The Application of Cluster Analysis for Risk Grading in Occupational Accidents

A brief introduction of cluster analysis was presented in the paper before its utilization in the seriously injured rate (persons/10 thousand) and death rate (persons/10 thousand) within various industries during recent years. Then the risk classification for accidents in different industries was conducted, involving 10 grades. The result shows that the excavating always ranks the most dangerous, followed by power, manufacturing and supplying of gas and water. Other sectors are relatively safe, ranging from education, culture, art and broadcast, agriculture, forestry, stockbreeding and fishery, state agencies and social communities to health, sports and social welfare. All this provides decision-making foundations for departments of work safety management and insurance.
