Analysis on Influencing Factors of Health Risk in Rural China
Using CHNS 2006 survey data, this paper focuses on how individual income, health medical insurance and health service accessibility influence health risk in rural China. On the basis of empirical results, three main conclusions were drawn: (1) for the high-income peasants, the higher the individual incomes are, the lower health risk is, but the conclusion is opposite for the low-income peasants; (2) rural medical insurance is not related to health risk, which means that rural medical insurance lacks effectiveness; (3) actions when peasants were ill have negative contribution to health risk, because peasants choose to see a doctor just when they face serve illness. It shows that health service accessibility is poor in Chinese rural area. Furthermore, policies of peasants medical security and income improvement are proposed in rural China.
