Are Independent Directors of Governmental Background Helpful to Keep away Financial Risk?--An Empirical Study Based on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises NIelllnm-sizell Enterprises

摘要：

With the study of 212 SME board companies and their relative statistics in 2007，we empirically found that the proportion of independent directors with a government background has insignificant impact on the corporation profitability，though it is positively related with the corporation’s net cash flow.The policy implication is that the presence of independent directors with government background in the SME Board companies doesn’t cause new political involvement in the business profit-making management，in fact，it plays a certain role in the corporations supervision，administration and the precaution of financial risk.
