Influence of Glazing on Building Energy Conservation and Its Selections

Glass windows affected the building not only on thermal transmission but also on thermal comfort and visual comfort. The major effect factors of window energy consumption have been analyzed in the article. The energy consumption of the physical model is simulated separately by DeST under the conditions of the different glass materials, different area ratio of window to wall, the different zones, and different faces. The conclusions are proposed: Low-E coated insulating glass windows or vacuum coated insulated glass with the less heat transfer coefficient is the optimal choice in hot summer and warm winter zone because of the bigger intensity of solar radiation; internal doublefilm hollow glazing should be choice in hot summer and cold zone which consumes less 21% energy than the 6ram ordinary white glazing;the less coefficient glazing is suggested to be choice in the cold district, for instance double-layer hollow high-transmission Low-E coated insulating glass windows, high-transmission and low(middle)-radiation glazing, internal double-film hollow glazing etc.
