Optimization Design and Experimental Study of Chest Refrigerator Using a New Tandem Double-capillary Tube Refrigeration System

The size of capillary tube, used in the new tandem double-capillary tube refrigeration system of chest refrigerator, was optimized by means of available energy analysis and performance experiment. The experimental results show that energy consumption of the chest refrigerator decreases first and then increases with the increase of the length and the decrease of inner diameter of the second capillary tube if the size of the first capillary tube has been determined. So there is an optimum value. As for BCD-192 chest refrigerator used in this study, when the size of the first capillary tube is ψexternal 1.6×0.64mm with the length of 2180mm and the size of the second capillary tube is ψexternal 1.6 ×ψinner 1.2mm with the length of 1150mm, the performance reaches the relatively high level and the energy consumption is 0.866kW·h/24h.
