Experimental Study on Dynamic Characteristics of Split-type Stirling Cryocooler under Different Operating Conditions

An experimental bench was built to measure the dynamic characteristics of Stirling cryocooler.Dynamic characteristic parameters of compressor and expander were experimentally tested and analyzed.Through experimental study on cryocooler temperature pulling down procedure and dynamic characteristic of expander at low temperature, variations of dynamic parameters and electric parameters of cryocooler during temperature pulling down procedure were factually recorded;the reasons were explained as well. At the same time, the pressure drop characteristics of regenerator were measured and analyzed. By cut-off expander linear motor, operating characteristics of pure gas-driven expander of Stirling cooler were measured and analyzed. The mutual influences among the key operating parameters such as operating frequency, natural frequency, cold end temperature, PV power in compression space and expansion space, phase shift between piston and displacer, and the stroke of displacer, which have a great impact on the performance of the cooler, are analyzed and discussed. As a result, these results will be very helpful to development of split-type pure gas-driven eryoeoolers.
