Preliminary Thermodynamic Simulation for a Novel Mixed Refrigerant Cycle Nitrogen Liquefier
Mixed-refrigerant cycle(MRC) has been widely used in LNG plant. In this paper a new-type MRC system with a commercial refrigerator as pre-cooling stage is proposed as nitrogen liquefier.The major refrigeration cycle is driven by a commercial screw compressor and the nitrogen is pressurized and purified by an air-separation system. Thermodynamic analysis for the cryogenic system is carried out with a process simulation software, and preliminary comparisons indicated that the new liquid nitrogen plane has a better thermal performance than other commercial nitrogen liquefiers.
