Effects of Electroacupuncture of Different Acupoints on Sympathetic Cardiovascular Response in Acute Myocardial Ischemia Rabbits

Objective:There has been little research on effects of electroacupuncture (EA) of different acupoints on cardiac sympathetic nerve activity (CSNA).This study investigates the different effects of the EA on cardiac sympathetic cardiovascular response. Methods:Rabbits were punctured at Neiguan (PC 6),Shenmen (HT 7),Zhizheng (SI 7),Taiyuan (LU 9),Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and nonpoint at the same time of injection of posterior pituitrin on eight rabbits, respectively.Heart rate (HR),CSNA and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were measured to evaluate the effects of specific acupoints.Lower frequency (2 Hz) EA was stimulated.Needles were inserted into the skin and its underlying muscles at different bilateralis acupoints of 3-5 mm depth on the body. Results: EA of three acupoints including Neiguan (PC 6),Shenmen (HT 7) and Zhizheng (SI 7) modulated the HR,MAP and CSNA of acute myocardial ischemia (AMI) rabbits but to different degrees.
