Social needs and Feasibility of elevator evacuation of high-rise buildings during fire emergencies

摘要：

As we know elevator evacuation is unsafe when the fire spreading is out of control, however, it is biased to forbid using elevators under any circumstance or to use it without any restriction as well. This reported research starts from an investigation about the operations of firefighting elevators of high-rise buildings in Shanghai. Furthermore, some aspects: The Golden Time, Fire Scene, Facilities, and Regulations are providing to discuss about the social needs and feasibility of elevator evacuation of high-rise buildings during fire emergencies. Conclusions are made that while the technology and equipment improvement may be primarily, to modify the Code and Regulation to meet the needs is also essential.
