Some Discussions about the Use of Elevators in Fire Evacuation

摘要：

This paper analyzes the some issues about the elevator evacuation during fire in high-rise buildings. It is pointed out the feasibility of elevators evacuation is determined by the smoke effects to the elevator operation. Through reviewing of the typical cases of elevator evacuation, the reasons for the success or failure are analyzed. It is suggested that Improvements in the aspects of architectural design, elevator design and operating modes should be paid more attentions. Some recommendations are given as well.
