An Overview of Research on Elevator Evacuation during Fires in China
With the increase of high buildings in China, the issues on high-rise building fires are becoming more and more serious, especially the problem of how to evacuate occupants from the high-rise buildings rapidly and safely during fires. Elevator used in fire situations can make a significant time saving contribution to travel towards the occupants in the building. This paper will review the past research on elevator evacuation during fires in China, and future research plans for feasibility and application of elevator evacuation in fires will be discussed.
