Physiology of a new high yield sweetpotato variety-Shangshu 19
Primary growth parameters were investigated at different development stages of sweetpotato Shangshu19,which Starch content is higher than commercial high-starch variety Xushu18 as a control.According to our field comparisons on biological yield of aerial and hypogeal parts,Shangshu19 showed some physiological parameters better than those of Xushu18 variety,which included that:earlier and faster growth of aerial stem and leaf at the early development stage,longer time of functional leaves,Later progress of premature senility,approximate optimum Leaf Area Index,faster speed of and longer development of tuberous roots,more reasonable T/R ratio,higher net assimilative efficiency and faster assimilation transport.
