Current status of sweetpotato industry in Beijing Daxing District and development proposals
More than 65％ of the soil in this district is sand soil,very suitable soil resources for cultivating sweetpotato and achieving better economic benefits than planting other crops.Since the adjustment of agricultural structure,the sweetpotato industry has become the areas competitive and leading industry.Combining practical characteristics of the regional agricultural production,through the introduction of high quality and new varieties such as Xushu 23,and Xuzishu No.1 and developing cultivation in the protected field,intercropping pattern of melon(fruit) plantation,application of corn flour type drought-resistant polymers,bio-chemical control of pesticides,virus-free technology of sweetpotato,the level of sweetpotato industrialization has been raised.However,there are still some problems.Mechanization level is still relatively low,the market supply cycle is short and cultivation techniques have not been standardized for the farmers.In light of the current problems in sweetpotato industry of this region,here is to make some development proposals for this industry.
