SOGFCMAC Fuzzy Artificial Neural Network for Active Vibration Control of Flexible Plates

Flexible plate,a simplified model for the solar array of a satellite,is characterized by its large displacement,low and dense vibration mode frequencies and low damping when it is used in the space.It is challenge to control the vibration actively.In this paper,a cerebellum model articulation controller(CMAC)method is used for an active vibration control system of the plate using smart structure concept in which piezo ceramic materials are used as both sensors and actuators.To improve the nonlinear approximating ability of CMAC,a fuzzy CMAC with Gauss basis functions(GFCMAC)is used.After improving the self organizing feature of the Kohonen algorithm,a structural self organized algorithm for GFCMAC(SOGFCMAC)was introduced.To achieve real time vibration control of the flexible plate,the output layer of the network is connected to the estimating layer,Simulation in Matlab shows that the controller with SOGFCMAC neural network result in good vibration reduction of the plate.
