Companion crops for pasture establishment in the state of Minas Gerais,Brazil
The establishment of pastures is expensive and to reduce costs, it is sometimes recommended to seed one or more crops along with the forage, in order to pay for, at least, part of the costs.The results of this practice vary, and changes with the season and the year of planting, due to changing climatic conditions (Crowder & Chedar, 1982 and Decker et al., 1976).The objective of this research was to study the use of companion crops on the establishment of Brachiaria briz antha (Bb) pasture in the State of Minas Gerais‐Brazil.
