Consumers Preference of Service Innovation for Sustainability:A Survey
In the past decade, due to emerging sustainability issues, new green services have been developed for reducing environmental burden or conserving natural resources. Examples of green services include re-use, recycling, maintenance, leasing, sharing and pooling, energy management and functional sale. This study collects information of various new services for sustainability and conducts a survey on consumers preference. The purpose is to know the acceptance and preference of service innovation for sustainability and hence discuss future development. Conjoint analysis is used to find part worth utilities of service attributes and weightings of consumers preferences where more than 28 types of sustainable service are included for comparison. The results show consumers weightings on attributes and part worth utilities for various attribute levels. Age, education, income, residence areas, and number of family members are also considered using statistical analysis to discuss the potential of sustainable services in various market segments.
