The Choice of Organizational Form for Russian Small and Medium-sized Companies:Results of the Pilot Study
The purpose of the research was to find out whether Russian companies admit a possibility of changing organizational form of business and what factors turn out to be significant, in terms of impact on the decision on such a change. Top-management and Board members of 67 small and medium-sized shareholders companies were surveyed. The qualitative analysis of the main results of the survey and statistical testing of hypotheses on significant difference of responses to the questions on different aspects of strategy, corporate governance, financial performance for open and closed joint-stock companies were conducted. Econometric analysis was used in order to find out whether there is a correlation between the possibility of changing organizational form and financial performance of the company.
