Myth and Reality in Chinese Corporate Governance System:Ownership Structure and Growth Strategy in IT Firms

We examine the link between corporate governance system and growth strategy in Chinese entrepreneurial IT firms. We argue that a disproportionate ownership structure in favor of the founder-manager fits hyper-competitive strategies for achieving firm fast-growth. Two-paired cases between Chinese entrepreneurial and foreign-invested firms in China were examined. The propositions are supported.
