How do HRM Practices Contribute to Organizational Entrepreneurship? A Continginecy Perspective
Given the importance of human capital in organizational entrepreneurship and innovation, research need to be done to explore how HRM practices, together with the other organizational factors, impact the business innovation process. This study reports the empirical results obtained from 191 Chinese firms for investigating effects of SHRM practices on corporate entrepreneurship indicated by new product development as well as the moderating effects of corporate culture, organizational leadership, and structure on the SHRM-new product development linkage. It is shown that entrepreneurial HRM practices have positive impact on firms new product development. And the relationship is stronger for firms having entrepreneurship-ori-ented culture, task-oriented leadership and flatter organizational structure. Implications of the results are discussed.
