Study on Absorption Power of Electrical Small EED in RF Hazard

With the development of high power and broadband electronic equipment, the surrounding electromagnetic environment of weapon system becomes increasingly complex, which exacerbates the radio frequency (RF) hazard to electro-explosive device (EED). The absorption power of electrical small (The largest dimension is smaller than one-tenth of a wavelength.) EED without shielding in the far field of RF hazard source will be studied by the method of equivalent antenna model in this paper. Firstly, the radiation power of RF hazard source is introduced. Then, the coupling mechanism of the radiation power of RF source and the absorption power of electrical small EED is analyzed. And the relationship between the radiation power of RF source and the absorption power of EED is given through the transmission efficiency factor. Last, the influence factors of the transmission efficiency factor and the absorption power of EED are studied by numerical method whose result is in accord with the experimental result of detecting sensitivity frequency. Practically, this is very useful in preventing weapon system form RF hazard.
