Conditions of Tailing Ponds Distribution and Risk Management in China

摘要：

The safety and stability of tailing ponds plays an important role in the mining production and environmental protection in China. This paper was based on the results of nationwide investigations of mctal and nonmetal mines conducted by State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS), and summarized the distribution features of Chinas tailing ponds and problems with safety management. Based on the analyses of current laws, codes and standards on the tailing ponds safety of China, this paper researched the current status of risk management, safety assessment methods and technical research status of tailing ponds, and also discussed the safety conditions of Chinas tailing ponds in the future. The research indicates that safety conditions of Chinas tailing ponds safety will be significantly improved by China government.
