Research of Rock Mass Stability Monitoring Based on Acoustic Emission Strength-Weakness Criterion
Based on the testing results of acoustic emission parameters in laboratory and on site, an evaluating criterion of relative strength-weakness characteristic on the time sequence of the acoustic emission parameters of rockmass stability is presented. A new method evaluating rockmass stability on the criterion is researched. The time sequence of the acoustic emission parameters in rockmass failure process is considered in the evaluating criterion. The time sequence is divided into positive relative time sequence and negative time sequence. The evaluating criterion of relative strength-weakness characteristic is calculated based on the two time sequences. The value of the criterion is between 0 and 100 while it is dealt with in standard. So that, it can eliminate the effect of the environmental factors on geological structure or the dimensions and location of mined-out areas. The criterion applied on rockmass stability evaluation is more effective in stope stability monitoring. An example is presented in the paper. The example shows that rockmass stability is dangerous when the criterion is between 80 and 100, and that rockmass stability is safe when the criterion is between 0 and 50.
