Research and Application of a Model to the Breaking of Tailing Dam

Safety of tailing clam is the first important factor of tailing storehouse. A mathematical model to tailings dam break based on a lot of date of darnsbreak is proposed. In this model, the physical properties and deformations of tailing are considered. So it is suit for the vast flow variation in the process of darn-break. Then a method for calculating the backward position in the process is proposed, in which a lot of important date of tailing dam break such as the gross leaked tailing. The average widths of dam-break, the max tailing flow, the line about the process of tailings flow are given. Finally, a tailing flow in a tailing reserve the process of tailing dam break is forecasted. And the height for the people to recoil from the backward position is indicated. The model can provide guidance for safety running of tailing darn.
