Research on Numerical Simulation of Spiral Flow Ventilation at Tunneling Working Face

The spiral flow ventilation is a new type of ventilation at tunneling working face. Based on theoretical analysis, the flow field and the deleterious materials distribution of the ventilation at the tunneling working face are simulated by Fluent, and the spiral flow ventilation is compared with the ventilation of long positive pressure and short negative. The results show the spiral flow ventilation can effectively control the dust diffusion at the tunneling working face, greatly improve the dust collection effect of ventilation installations, and prevent gas aggregating at the roof by blowing off gas. Therefore, the spiral flow ventilation has a good application prospect on ventilation dustproof and security.
