Simplified Bidisperse Diffusion Model of Methane Adsorption/Diffusion in Coal

The development of micro-structure on coal beds, gas distribution in macropores in free state and in adsorbed state, a simplified bidisperse diffusion mathematical model of methane adsorption/diffusion in coal, a basic conception of apparent diffusion coefficient and detailed methods to solve this mathematical model of gas release in coal beds are given. Simulated values of macropores and micropores diffusion coefficients, and the rules of apparent diffusion coefficients under different pressure and porosity in coal particles based on the experimental data of Nantong and Sanhui mining are given. It offers the theoretical foundation and methods for the decision and project selection on CBM and ECBM processes.
