Study on Combination Support for High Stressed Soft Rock Roadway

In China, roadways of coal mine will be in a high environment of geo-stress with the increasing depth of coal mining, and to ensure the safe stability of the roadway will be difficult, especially in some areas where there has intense activities of geological structure. The study of deformation characters of rock mass in high geo-stress environment and how to choose effective supporting fashions is the key of the stability of the coal roadways. The concept and the forming condition of high geo-stress rock are introduced, and the deformation characters and supporting principle of high geo-stress soft rock roadways are discussed in this paper. The roadways of one coal mine was regarded as an example to illustrate the practice of three combined support types and the rigid gap flexible layer support fashion was selected as the best support fashion.
