Hazard Analysis of Vapor Cloud Explosion of Benzene Tank
Vapor cloud explosion may lead to catastrophic destruction. Shock wave and thermal radiation are most important reasons for causing such destruction. The objective of this work is to calculate and analyze the destructive range by fire and explosion models. In this paper, two methods were used, one was TNT Equivalence, and the other was fireball thermal radiation. In TNT Equivalence model, supposing that only 4% fuel contribute to explosion, and based on such supposition, the radiuses had been obtained under the different situation of destruction. In thermal radiation modeL, the injury probability was taken into account, also obtained the equations. At last, an example was analyzed with the two methods.
