Preliminary Numerical Study on Blowout of Natural Gas Well Containing CO2
This paper presents a numerical simulation on blowout of natural gas well containing CO2 whose mole fraction is 0.5 assuming that the other half of the gas mixture is CH4 only. Taking the assumption that gas mixture disperses isothermally and the outlet pressure of the well is 10 MPa, four scenarios under different wind profiles are simulated. Through the analysis of simulation results, the qualitative relationship between blowout features (i.e. maximum height and furthest downwind dispersion distance), and wind velocity is obtained; furthermore, it concludes that there is neither gas separation nor gas assembly phenomena on the earths surface. Finally, some further study prospects are provided, such as reduce calculation domain, change the ejection velocity of natural gas well and so on.
