Experiment of Porous Material Effect on Propagation of Methane-Air Mixture Explosion in Tubes
Gas and dust explosion is the severe accidents in industry production, and it is urgent and important to research new materials and technology that can suppress and isolate the explosions. Gas explosion tube of square cross-section was planned and made, Al2O3 and SiC foam ceramics were selected and the effect the propagation of methane-air mixture explosion were studied by experiments. The experiment results show that the foam ceramics has obvious abilities of absorbing sound wave, quenching the flame of backfire and suppressing the maximum overpressure of explosion. The experiment can supply necessary theory and technique supports on exploiting effective methods of suppression explosion.
