Scaling Study of Tunnel Fire Suppression by Water Mist
Effective scaling is an important precondition in reducing water mist system cost and improving fire suppression efficiency in tunnel fire prevention. After a dimensionless study of basal conservation equations, combining the physical similarity of tunnel fire suppression by water mist, a series of scale relation were obtained, aiming at generalizing water mist suppression scale simulation to applications with longitudinal ventilafion~ This paper applied scaling to small scale experimental set-up. After comparing temperature variations along ventilation direction with two different scales, the results come out that in analogical scenes the temperatures accords well with each other while the experimental parameters meet the scale correlation. In experiments with different mist diameter, the scaling should obey the similarity of mist atomiztion mode.
