Experimental Investigation of Extinguishing Fire Effectiveness on Kerosene Pool Fire With Water Mist

Using gas analysis meter, data gathering instrument and k-type thermocouples, the simulation experiments are carded our to investigate the extinguishing fire effectiveness on kerosene pool fire with water mist at the standard confined room. The whole process is studied, which water mist suppressing kerosene. The experimental results show that the fire position and outlet flux of spray nozzle have a remarkable influence to the extinguishing fire effectiveness of water mist. The extinguishing suppression effectiveness is not always the best when the fire position is jnst below the nozzle, which is related to the nozzle flux. During the practical application, the best matching values of these factors should be considered to enhance the suppression effectiveness and economy of water mist.
