Train Fire Smoke Control in Deep Buried Island Metro Station

With the development of city rail transit in China, more and more metros in the megalopolis areas will be built by deep embedment technology, especially for the line through old town with lots of building piles below. So fire safety in these metro stations should be inspected much more and studied further. In this poper, train fire growth and smoke movement in deep-burying island metro station are investigated by CFD simulation. The smoke spread beneath the platform and tunnel ceiling and through floors are analyzed, focusing on the distribution of fire properties such as the temperature, poisonous gas concentration, visibility in the tunnel, platform, hall, equipment floors and evacuation stair well. The efficient air ventilation method on train fire smoke control in the deep buried island metro station (DBMS) under fires is then discussed further. Finally the simulations are compared with the experimental results, and the conclusions may benefit to ventilation design and safety management for train fire smoke control in DBMS.
