Experimental Study and Numerical Analysis of Zoned Phenomenon for Fire in Underground Confined Spaces
The special zoned phenomenon of the fire in underground combinatory confined spaces was found and defined by us in the experiments. It is a key phenomenon for the fire in underground confined spaces. The experiments and numerical simulation were carried out for the zoned phenomenon of the fire in underground combinatory confined spaces. The fire zones in the combinatory confined spaces with the upside and lower long narrow confined ones are divided into four zones: flame zone, high temperature thermal plumes zone, fresh air supplement zone and inert zone. The results of numerical simulation based on the zoned phenomenon are compared with the experimental results and reasonable agreement has been achieved. The study indicates that the three-dimension model for fire in combinatory confined spaces applied in this paper can be used to simulate the practical complex phenomena for the fire in combinatory confined space and it could satisfy the require of practical engineering in some extent.
