Effect of Thermal Histories on Metailographic Structure of Secondary Short Circuit Molten Bead of Copper Wire

By simulating fire scene, secondary short circuit molten beads of copper wire were made. Cooling the molten beads by spraying water alter placing in the air for different time and the metallographic structure of the molten beads were observed using metallographic microscope. The results show that the metallographic structure of the secondary short circuit molten beads were seriously influenced by the temperature point when cooling process begin, sectional area oft.he copper wire, short current. The metallographic structure of the secondary short circuit molten beads are similar to that of the primary short circuit molten beads when cooled by spraying water shortly after the beads formed. The finding can be used to instruct fire physical evidence identification.
