Dynamic Measurement Analyses on Relativity between Occupational Safety and Industrial Structure in China

Compared the movement path of occupational accident fatalities with that of industry structure in China, occupational safety changes regularly with industrial structure. Data on number of fatalities and three industries production proportion in GDP during 1949-2006 are collected to make dynamic measurement analyses on relativity between them by method of Correlation Analysis and Granger Causality Test, results show that three industries each have different relationship with occupational safety, heavy proportion of the second industry which is labor-intensive and with lower productive efficiency results in austere occupational safety in China. In order to improve Chinese occupational safety and to reduce fatalities, it is necessary to improve labor productivity and optimize industrial structure by use of utilizing technology innovation.
