Application of Set-Valued Statistics in the Qualitative Evaluation of Road Safety of Mountainous Region
Aiming at the complexity and the diversity of factors that have the influence on road traffic safety of mountainous region, and the fuzzy characteristic of influence of each factor. Set-Valued Statistics is presented to determine quantitative values of qualitative indexes that affect the traffic safety of roads in mountainous region, in order that resolves the problems which subjective judgments used in the grade proportion method and the experts evaluation method are difficult to be exactly expressed. By comparing and analyzing the indexes of the evaluated road segments that includes traffic accidents incidence, traffic accidents mortality, traffic accidents severity, etc, the results indicated that Set-Valued Statistics can effectively resolve the problem of qualitative evaluation for the road safety of the mountainous region.
