Dynamic-Line Method of Evaluating Sight Distance Security on Runway
In order to accurately evaluate the sight distance security of a taxiing airplane on runway, theories, characteristics and application status of conventional evaluating methods were analyzed, main influencing factors, merits and demerits of that were studied, Dynamic-Line method was put forward based on analysis of pilots line of sight and longitudinal profile of runway centedine with principles of graphics and derivative. It is pointed that the decisive factors of evaluating sight distance security were respectively length of slopes, gradients, gradient-changing values of longitudinal slope of runway and eye-lee/el elevation. There would be unexplainable geometry meaning and singularity value of evaluating result when application of conventional methods of graphics and derivative. The results indicate that it would be more representative to evaluate sight distance security with the height differences of corresponding points in circular changing line of sight, which means Dynamic-line, and in longitudinal pavement.
