The Establishment of Myanmar Special Economic Zone: Under the Frame Work of Ayeyawady-Chaopraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy
The establishment of ACMECS in 2003 aims to bridge the economic gap among the four countries,and to promote prosperity in the sub-region in a sustainable manner.Such prosperity will not only benefit the four countries,but also add value to ASEAN and it nearby countries including China.This paper focus on the least developed country,Myanmar in ASEAN countries and paid attentions to the economic cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand.The project site selection analysis is given while the short,medium and long term potential industries are proposed in the industrial estates.Besides,recommendations are given to both Myanmar government and foreign investors to promote the economic activities including trading,investment,industry and tourism in the related areas.
