Enhancing Corporate Core Competence with Intrapreneurship Mechanism:Activities and Performance-A Case Study on the Lntrapreneurship Activities in Huawei
Intrapreneurship refers to a series of entrepreneurial activities performed after being permitted, empowered and provided with ample resources by the organization, in order to enhance corporate core competence. Once the dominant strategy has been selected, the organization can then, through these activities, develop new products in accordance with their visions, enter into or re-segment the new market so as to enhance the flexibility of corporate strategies and avoid the rigidity in its core competence. At present, about 65% of the first 100 companies out of the global top 500, have adopted the intrapreneurship mechanism for product innovation. Based on the observation and investigated case analysis of intrapreneurship activities in Huawei, the present paper aims to discuss and e-valuate the action logics and mechanisms of growing corporations in China during the process of their intrapreneurship, and summarize some effective approaches and experience for core competence intensification through such activities.
