The Impact of Industrialization on China’s Energy Consumption
Energy has now become the bottleneck of Chinas economic development.Because modern industry is entirely founded on large-scale machinery, the development of industry is utterly tied to energy consumption.Industry development not only created great economic benefit but also supplied massive material and equipment for China. This paper analyses the relationship between industry output and enorgy consumption of China from 1952-2005 and results indicate that the great industry output of China is based on a great deal of fossil energy consumptions;the correlation between them is almost completely linearity. At same time,China industry developments have made great impact on its energy system too, industry energy consumption increase 54.5 times and its proportion changed from 53.3%to 70.8%;industry enerlgy consumptions structure is becoming moro and moro intensives and the ratio of secondary energy increase from 16.7%to 65.8%;although the China industry energy consumption intensity keep imprgvement all the way,it still have great gap compared with developed countries.According to the 11th Five-year Plane,China will keep the current economic speed in the next few years,so the energy pressure will still exit In order to relax this condition and realize sustainable development, structural improvement and technique modernization of industry is essential.
