A Research on the Differentiated Development Policies of Lancang River Basin and Some Policy Suggestions
The Lancang, the upstream of Mekong River in Yunnan, offers a great diversity in geographical settings, which produces an impact on the utilization of natural resources and the overall economic development. So, different policies should be adopted for the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Lancang River. A systematic and holistic approach is being applied that recognizes the links between economic development and natural resources rational utilization and conservation. Also, this paper will make efforts in putting forward some policy suggestions for the issue.
