Estimating the Agglomeration Economies of Manufacturing Industry in China
Cobb-Douglas production function is constructed to estimate the agglomeration economies of manufacturing in China in the paper.The data used in the estimation is the panel date form 1990 to 2005 across every province in China.The agglomeration effects of eight two-digit manufacturing industries’agglomeration are estimated.The result shows there are distinct agglomeration economies in manufacturing industry,however there are remarkable differences among different industries.The agglomeration economies are not only appeared in high—tech industries,but also appeared in traditional labor intensive industries.
