Densification, Solid Reaction and Properties of Low Temperature Sintered LiZn Ferrites Prepared by the Ceramics Method

The LiZn fenrrites with composition Li0.5-0.5xZnxMnaFe2.5-0.5x-aO4 (0.1≤x≤0.6), were prepared by ceramics method through refined milling oxygen. The XRD spectra show that the spinel phase is formed at about 400~500℃ to 700℃. The curve of reduced magnetization for the samples pre-sintered vs temperatures shows that the solid reaction to form the magnetic spinel phase takes place at about 550℃~700℃. The shrinkage curve indicates that the expanding occurs first then shrinking, and the densification occurs at about 800~850℃ behind the solid reaction in more than 200℃. The figures of the density and shrinkage, also the ferromagnetic resonance linewidth ΔH and spin wave linewidth ΔHK, the saturation magnetization Ms and coercivity He, versus sintering temperature for the studied Li0.365Zn0.27 MnaFe2.365-aO4 ferrite indicate that a good low-temperature-sintering behavior, as well as microwave properties, were obtained at 880±10℃. Especially, the values of ΔHK are higher than that of the common LiZn ferrite samples with a factor of 3~4 times.
