The Effect of Manufacturing Process and Oxide Additives on Electro-magnetic Properties of High Permeability MnZn Ferrite Material

We studied the effect of manufacturing process and oxide additives, such as Bi2O3, In2O3 and MoO3 on electro-magnetic properties of high permeability MnZn ferrite cores used in pulse transformer. It shows that the parameters of ferrite slurry has great influence on the shapes of spray-dried ferrite powders and the compressibility of ferrite powders will affect the density and strength of green ferrite core. The effect of Bi2O3,In2O3 and MoO3 additions on the permeability and microstructure of MnZn ferrite cores used in pulse transformer were also be studied. It shows that the Bi2O3, In2O3 and MoO3 additions have great influence on the μi and the microstructure of ferrite cores. By accurately controlling the sintering condition and the manufacturing process, a new higher permeability MnZn ferrite material with an initial-permeability of 32000 has been developed.
